Kamal Imani BioKamal Imani is an internationally known spoken word performance poet, conscious hip hop lyricist, Television and Showcase Host and Lecturer. Kamal has toured the eastern coast of the United States. His full time profession is a teacher of children and teenagers with special needs and who are considered “at risk”. Being born in Harlem New York and raised in the Bronx New York as well as Teaneck New Jersey by a single mother, Kamal identifies with urban youth and young people who feel angry or isolated. He is also a tutor at a major tutoring company. Kamal is author of the book “You Got Next, Real Talk for the Hip Hop Generation” (Blurb.com) In Bergen County New Jersey he is considered one of the pioneers of the early hip hop movement in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s.
