Rape HURTS
Ms. Divine
As a survivor of acquaintance rape which resulted in my pregnancy at 18, it has really affected my entire life, as well as my entire being. I started my healing journey after 11 years of carrying this shame, guilt, pain and trauma around with me. I have not achieved the level of healing that I would like to. As strong and determined as I am to heal and to one day put this behind me, most days I feel stuck. I have read and taken in so much knowledge on the subject from professionals. However, what I've most identified with are what other survivors have shared. I have a very complex account of acquaintance rape. I've been wanting to share the entirety of my story. I always get sidetracked or it doesn't come out right. I need an outlet and I also want to be a safe place for others like me. I feel that healing can only take place when you address and tackle the issue as a whole and in its purest, most raw form. Many people will never know just how deep the struggle is for rape survivors, e
