DIY Access
Katherine Chudy
DIY Access takes the momentum of awareness campaigns and focuses that energy towards problem-solving on a case-by-case basis, relying heavily on the expertise from disabled individuals acquired through lived experience. Waiting for legislation or action from calcified institutions may take decades, and oftentimes the things we need already exist and are only in need of some minor adjustment and re-design. This show also invites discussions about how meeting disabled access needs not only helps disabled individuals but showcases the ideas of agency and access for all.
